PASHA BELMAN

Real Moments. Forever Memories. Myrtle Beach Family Photographers.

Pasha Belman Photography specializes in natural, light-filled family beach portraits for vacationing and local families throughout the Grand Strand. Every session is personally photographed by Pasha — never handed off. Galleries delivered within 2-3 days, so your photos are ready before you leave the beach.

Every summer, thousands of families make their way to the South Carolina coast for one reason — to be together. The beach strips away the noise of everyday life and gives you something rare: everyone in the same place, at the same time, present. Pasha Belman Photography exists to capture that. Not stiff, forced portraits against a backdrop — but real moments. Sandy toes, kids running toward the waves, parents stealing a quiet moment while the children play. The kind of images that end up framed over your fireplace and pulled out every time family comes to visit.

With over 250 five-star Google reviews and more than 15 years photographing families along the Grand Strand, we are one of the most trusted names in Myrtle Beach family photography — and every session is personally photographed by Pasha, never handed off to an associate. If you're also planning a Myrtle Beach wedding or engagement session during your visit, we photograph those throughout the Grand Strand as well.

Vacation Family Portraits

Most of our clients are families visiting Myrtle Beach on vacation — and the session is often the highlight of the trip. We work around your vacation schedule, your rental location, and your family's energy level. You don't need to travel far or figure out logistics. We come to the beach closest to where you're staying, arrive early to scout the light, and handle everything from start to finish. Galleries are delivered within 1–2 days, so you have your photos while you're still here to enjoy the moment — not weeks after you've returned home.

Family Reunions & Large Groups

Some of our most meaningful sessions are multi-generational family reunions — grandparents, adult children, grandchildren, and everyone in between gathered on the beach for a single afternoon. We've photographed reunion groups of 10, 20, 30, even 40 or more, and we know how to organize large groups efficiently without losing the warmth and spontaneity that make these sessions worth having. If your extended family is gathering along the Grand Strand this summer, reach out early to hold your date — reunion sessions book quickly in peak season.

Maternity & Newborn Portraits

The South Carolina coast makes a stunning backdrop for maternity portraits — open sky, soft light, and the kind of natural beauty that doesn't need much else. We photograph expecting mothers and growing families throughout the Grand Strand, capturing this chapter with the same care and intention we bring to every session. Newborn sessions are also available for families wanting to document those first weeks of life in a warm, unhurried setting. Contact us to discuss timing and location options for your maternity or newborn session.

Sunrise Sessions

Sunrise sessions are a quieter, cooler alternative for families who prefer to avoid the crowds and heat of a summer evening. The morning light along the South Carolina coast is soft, directional, and genuinely beautiful — and the beach at sunrise feels like it belongs entirely to you. These sessions are especially popular in July and August when sunset temperatures can be intense for young children. If an early morning works for your family, sunrise is worth considering. We also offer senior portrait sessions at sunrise for graduating seniors who want that same quiet, golden light.

Session Locations

Our most popular locations include Myrtle Beach State Park and Huntington Beach State Park — both offer beautiful, natural stretches of beach with no commercial backdrop and easy parking. Huntington is particularly sheltered from wind, making it ideal for families with young children or anyone concerned about hair in the photos. We also photograph frequently at the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk area, along the quiet inlet beaches of Murrells Inlet and Garden City, and at private access points along Pawleys Island and DeBordieu Colony for clients seeking a more secluded setting.

Off-Beach Options

Not every family wants a traditional beach portrait — and we're equally comfortable off the sand. The Conway Riverwalk, Vereen Memorial Gardens, and the marsh-lined waterways throughout Horry County offer lush, green backdrops that photograph beautifully and provide a completely different feel from a standard beach session. Off-beach locations are a great option for families who have done beach portraits before and want something fresh, or for those who simply prefer a natural, wooded setting.

Where We Shoot

Photography Across the South Carolina Coast

We photograph family sessions throughout the Grand Strand and beyond — from North Myrtle Beach to Charleston. Every location is selected for its light, space, and natural beauty.

01

Myrtle Beach

Wide open beaches, clean sand, and world-class sunset light. Our most popular location for family beach portraits along the Grand Strand.

02

Pawleys Island

A quieter, more secluded stretch of coast with natural dunes and marshes. Ideal for families who want a relaxed, uncrowded beach setting.

03

Murrells Inlet

Sun-drenched beaches and Spanish moss-draped Lowcountry scenery. A beautiful, natural setting just south of Myrtle Beach.

04

North Myrtle Beach

Cherry Grove and Ocean Drive beaches offer wide, clean shores with open sky — perfect for large extended family groups and golden hour sessions.

05

Garden City

Charming, uncrowded beachfront south of Myrtle Beach. Great for families staying in Garden City or Surfside Beach looking for a local shoot location.

06

Georgetown / DeBordieu

The DeBordieu Club and surrounding Georgetown beaches offer some of the most pristine, private coastal scenery in South Carolina.

Not sure which location is right for you? Reach out and we'll recommend the perfect spot for your family.

Wardrobe Guide

What to Wear for Your Myrtle Beach Family Photos

Wardrobe is one of the biggest factors in how your portraits turn out. These tips help your family look cohesive, polished, and timeless in every frame.

01

Choose a Color Palette

Pick 2–3 complementary tones rather than everyone in matching outfits. Neutral earth tones — white, cream, sage, tan, dusty blue — photograph beautifully against the sand and ocean.

02

Coordinate, Don't Match

Matching navy polos can look dated. Instead, build outfits around a shared color story — each person in a different piece that shares one or two colors across the group.

03

Dress for the Beach

Flowy dresses, linen shirts, and light fabrics move beautifully in the ocean breeze. Avoid stiff fabrics, overly formal wear, or clothes you'd be uncomfortable sitting or playing in.

04

What to Avoid

Busy patterns, large logos, neon colors, and overly casual items like athletic wear or flip-flops. These compete with faces and age your portraits quickly.

05

Dressing the Kids

Dress children in simple, comfortable outfits that match the family palette. Avoid cartoon prints. Barefoot kids on the beach always photograph beautifully and feel natural.

06

Finishing Touches

Light, natural makeup tends to look best. Avoid very bold lipstick or heavy contouring in photos. Jewelry is great — keep it simple and meaningful rather than distracting.

After booking you'll receive our full wardrobe styling guide. Inquire today to get started.

Family Photography FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions — Myrtle Beach Family Photographer

Answers to the most common questions families ask before booking their beach portrait session with Pasha Belman Photography.

How far in advance should I book my Myrtle Beach family session?

+
We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for summer and fall sessions. Peak vacation months — June, July, August, and October — fill up quickly. If you're planning a beach vacation and want to schedule portraits while you're here, reach out as soon as your travel dates are confirmed. We can often accommodate shorter-notice bookings outside of peak season.

How much do family photographers cost in Myrtle Beach?

+
Family beach portrait sessions in Myrtle Beach start at $1,250 for a 30 minute session for up to 5 people. A 45 minute session is $1,450 and a 60 minute session is $1,650, both for up to 5 people. Additional family members beyond five are $100 per person. Sessions outside our primary Myrtle Beach photography locations require a $200 location fee.

What time of day do you photograph family sessions in Myrtle Beach?

+
All sessions are timed around the golden hour — approximately 60 to 90 minutes before sunset. This is when the light along the South Carolina coast is softest, warmest, and most flattering. Morning sessions can also be arranged at sunrise for families who prefer an early start, especially during hot summer months. We never photograph during harsh midday sun.

How long does it take to receive our gallery after the session?

+
Your private online gallery is delivered within 2 to 3 business days of your session — not weeks. You'll receive an email with a link to download all of your high-resolution images. You can share the gallery with family members, download images directly to your phone, or order prints through the gallery portal.

What happens if it rains on the day of our family session?

+
We monitor weather closely leading up to your session. If conditions look unfavorable, we'll reach out the day before to discuss rescheduling options. Light overcast skies can actually create beautifully soft, even lighting for portraits. Full rain or lightning will always result in a complimentary reschedule to your next available date at no additional charge.

Do you photograph large extended family groups?

+
Yes — large family reunions and multi-generational sessions are a specialty. We photograph extended family groups of 10, 20, 30+ people throughout the Grand Strand. For groups of 8 or more we strongly recommend the 60-minute session to ensure we have enough time to photograph everyone beautifully. Families visiting Myrtle Beach for reunions often book us to capture the entire group together.

Which beach locations do you recommend for family portraits?

+
We photograph throughout the Grand Strand including Myrtle Beach State Park, Huntington Beach State Park, Garden City Beach, Pawleys Island, North Myrtle Beach, and DeBordieu Colony. The right location depends on your family's size, style preferences, and where you're staying during your visit. We'll recommend the best option during your pre-session planning.

How should we dress for our family beach portraits?

+
You'll receive a detailed wardrobe guide after booking. In general, we recommend choosing a cohesive color palette of 2–3 tones rather than matching outfits. Earth tones, soft blues, whites, and natural linen fabrics tend to photograph beautifully at the beach. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, or neon colors. Comfort matters — dressed-up but relaxed always looks the most natural.

Do you photograph families visiting Myrtle Beach on vacation?

+
Absolutely — vacation families make up a large part of our clientele. We make the booking process simple so you can schedule your session while planning your trip. Just let us know your travel dates and we'll find an evening that works during your stay. Many families make beach portrait sessions a vacation tradition they repeat every year.

What do we receive after our session — digital files, prints, or both?

+
All packages include full-resolution digital files delivered via private online gallery, ready to download, print, or share. You own the rights to personal use of all images. Print ordering is available directly through the gallery. If you'd like custom products such as canvas prints, albums, or holiday cards, we can point you toward our recommended professional print labs.

Is Pasha Belman Photography available for sessions outside of Myrtle Beach?

+
Yes. We regularly photograph family sessions in Pawleys Island, North Myrtle Beach, Murrells Inlet, Georgetown, Litchfield Beach, and Charleston. A location fee of $200 applies for sessions outside our primary Myrtle Beach areas. For destinations beyond the Grand Strand, contact us directly and we'll discuss availability and pricing.
