Pinehurst NC family Photographer: A beautiful family session in North Carolina

Some family sessions are worth traveling for. This one brought me from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to beautiful Pinehurst, North Carolina.

When this family of seven invited me to photograph them, I knew we were going to create something special. Five beautiful children, two wonderful parents, and an opportunity to capture this chapter of their lives together.

As a family photographer based in Myrtle Beach, I work with incredible families throughout the Carolinas. Most of my sessions take place along the coast. I also love traveling to new locations, especially when it means creating something personal for a family.

A Family of Seven in the Beautiful North Carolina Countryside

One of my favorite things about this Pinehurst family photography session was the setting. Instead of the sandy beaches and ocean views I photograph in Myrtle Beach, we had open fields, tall golden grass and soft natural light. The peaceful countryside is what makes North Carolina so beautiful.

Pinehurst and the surrounding Sandhills suit family portraits perfectly. Open fields, tall grass and soft pine edges give every photo room to breathe. The light turns warm and golden in the evening. If you want Pinehurst NC family photos with a natural, relaxed feel, this is the setting I look for.

Overall, the entire setting felt timeless.

Naturally, with five children, there was no shortage of personality.

I wanted the photographs to reflect more than just what this family looks like today. I wanted to capture the relationships, the little personalities and the closeness between siblings. Beautiful moments between parents and their children mattered just as much.

In the end, the result was a collection of family portraits that felt warm, elegant and genuinely personal.

Five Children, Seven Personalities, One Beautiful Family

Photographing a family with five children reminds me why I love what I do.

Every child brings something different to the session. Some love being photographed. Others, however, need a little more time. Sometimes the most beautiful photographs happen when nobody is thinking about the camera.

Throughout our session, we created a beautiful variety of portraits. We photographed the entire family together, the children with their parents, and siblings spending time together. Finally, individual moments earned their own place in the family album.

What I especially love about photographing larger families is how much life there is in every image.

Over time, these are the photographs that become more meaningful with every passing year.

Families in Pinehurst, Southern Pines, Aberdeen and across Moore County often ask me whether I travel for portrait sessions. I do, for select families. I plan each session around your location, your children and the best light of the day.

Why I Love Traveling for Family Photography

Although Myrtle Beach is home, photography has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful people and travel to beautiful places.

Being invited to Pinehurst was a wonderful reminder that meaningful family photography doesn’t belong to one location.

Sometimes the perfect setting is the beach. Sometimes it’s a private property, a family home or an open field in the North Carolina countryside.

For me, the location is only part of the experience. What matters most is creating photographs families will be proud to display. I want them to pass those photographs down to their children.

Planning a session in a new town takes a little extra care. Before we meet, we talk through the location, the timing and what your family will wear. That way everyone feels comfortable when we begin.

Timeless Family Portraits in Pinehurst, North Carolina

Looking through this gallery, I love the soft colors and beautiful light. I also love how effortlessly this family came together in front of my camera.

The coordinated blue, cream and neutral clothing complemented the landscape beautifully. It gave the gallery a classic, refined look.
