Cambren and Collier couldn’t pick a better place to get married than Middleton Place near Charleston, SC. Just like other historic wedding venues in South Carolina, it is timeless, romantic, and offers tons of unique character. However, no other place can be called a home to the oldest landscaped gardens in America besides Middleton Place. Just like a few centuries ago, it still remains an essential part of the Charleston and American experience and now offers unforgettable setting for one-of-a-kind weddings.
“HERE YOU WALK ALONG A PATH AND YOU COME UPON A 900-YEAR OLD OAK TREE, AND THERE ARE LAKES AND RICE FIELDS AND FLOODED PLAINS – THAT MARRIAGE OF THE WATER TO THE EARTH MAKES THIS PLACE MAGICAL.” — MARTHA STEWART
From the very first step on the grounds of Middleton Place, you feel like you stepped back in time. Its moss-draped oaks, historic buildings and manicured gardens with elegant sculptures created an amazing backdrop for Cambren and Collier’s wedding weekend. But the breathtaking view of the Ashley River and Butterfly Lakes that looked like butterfly wings were the cherry on the cake!
In the place where everything reminded us of its historic heritage, Cambren’s modern wedding gown flawlessly stood out and felt so refreshing. This feather-like ball gown embraced her elegance and added even more romance to this beautiful celebration. Even though it rained that day, the clouds parted for the ceremony and all the guests where able to fully enjoy the gardens where they witnessed Cambren and Collier to say their heartfelt vows. It was a truly magical ceremony followed by a very cozy reception.
