How was the experience of finding your wedding dress?

“I searched high and low for a wedding dress and could not find anything that I absolutely loved.  After months of not having any luck, I finally stumbled upon a cute bridal boutique, Kelly’s Closet,  in Atlanta.   I felt a wave of relief when I walked in and loved every dress in the store.  As soon as I tried on my wedding dress I knew it was the one.  It was simple, yet elegant and I knew it would be the perfect dress to wear for an outdoor garden wedding.”

What made you choose your ceremony and reception venues?

“I always knew I would get married at Litchfield Beach. We grew up going there every summer, so Litchfield has always felt like a second home to me.  I knew I didn’t want a traditional church wedding, so after Tate proposed there on the beach, it pretty much sealed the deal.  When I learned that Brookgreen Gardens was available exactly a year later (to the day!) I knew that it was meant to be! ”

Tell us about your most memorable moment from your wedding day?

“Walking down the aisle with my dad under those enormous oak trees. The image of Tate at the altar with all of our friends and family gathered together will forever be ingrained in my memory.  The weather was perfect, the sun was shining through the trees, and I remember thinking that it was the most beautiful moment that I had ever and will ever experience in my entire life.”

Tell us a story behind your most special wedding accessory?

“The diamond stud earrings that I wore with my wedding dress was definitely one of my most special wedding accessories.  They were a gift to me for my 30th birthday and were custom made from one of my grandmother’s oldest pieces of jewelry. My grandmother could not be with us at the wedding, so wearing them made it seem like she was with us in spirit.”

What were you looking for in a your wedding photographer?

“I wanted our wedding photos to be fun, light-hearted, and I wanted them to capture the natural beauty of Litchfield and Brookgreen Gardens.  Pasha photographed a few of my friend’s weddings, so after seeing their photos and hearing their experience working with him, it was a no brainer.  I was completely blown away by Pasha’s photography and his ability to work with natural light and capture every special moment so perfectly.”

What advice would you give to the newly engaged couples about planning for their big day?

“At the end of the day, your wedding is about marrying each other.  You will hear lots of opinions about what you should and shouldn’t do and sometimes the stress of planning a wedding can just be overwhelming.  Just remember to not get caught up in all of the little details and that no matter what happens, your wedding day will be the happiest day of your life.  Don’t forget to be present in the moment and to take it all in!”
