This love story began in the Fall of 2011 at a Central High School football game in our hometown. Garrett, who was in college at the time, attended the Homecoming football game. This is the night we met.
Garrett and I had not previously met, even though we had mutual friends. That night, Garrett introduced himself to me. I didn’t think much of our conversation until after a few months passed when I asked my best friend, Amanda, to message Garrett on Facebook.
From then on, our journey began. I graduated high school and Garrett completed his Associate’s degree.
“Garrett and I both went to Clemson University during the fall! While at Clemson, I decided to participate in the co-op program on campus which means Garrett and I had to face a long distance relationship. I relocated to Alabama while Garrett stayed in South Carolina. As often as we could, we would meet in the middle in Macon, GA. I completed my co-op rotations and moved back to Clemson to finish my degree. Garrett graduated Clemson with a Bachelor of Science in Forest Resource Management. A year later, I graduated Clemson with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. We continued our long distance relationship for another year as we furthered our careers. In March of 2019, we went to Charleston to run the 10K Cooper River Bridge Run and that night Garrett proposed under the beautiful live oak trees at the Battery. We have grown together so much over the past 7 years, and we cannot wait to see what God has in store for us!” – Brandi & Garrett
